Adopt-a-Spot

The Adopt-a-Spot Project Group, led by Michelle Harris, has submitted an application to the City of Plattsburgh to adopt the kiosk at the corner of the Durkee Street Parking Lot in Downtown Plattsburgh.

Thank you to Mayor Kasprzak and the Common Council for approving our application on September 10th.

We shall make efforts to update the kiosk with new information concerning events and businesses downtown.  We will also be refinishing the kiosk.

Any donations of supplies would be greatly appreciated.  These include (but not limited to):

- paint

- paint brushes

- paint scrappers

- patio pavers

If you have any questions, would like to donate items, or would like to volunteer to revitalize the kiosk, feel free to contact Michelle Harris.

So long, summer of ... 2006

Thanks to everyone who came over the weekend to take down old postings and brainstorm ideas for sprucing up the kiosk! Passers-by no longer will read about music festivals from summers ago, or try to contact businesses that no longer exist.

The next steps are to paint the concrete around the kiosk, update the business directory, add educational information about recycling, encourage public postings, add a place for take-away maps and publications-- among other things. Stay tuned for updates about meetings and plans, and (as always) please send any and all suggestions to me at michelle.rae.harris@gmail.com.

Cheers!

Kiosk thanks

Thanks, Michelle, for your efforts to have the Green Committee Kiosk become a reality.
